The 2008 Regimental Weekend will be held over the weekend 9 - 11 May 2008 in Carlisle. During the course of the weekend the county of Cumbria will be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Territorial Army: hence the presence of two bands for the Beating of Retreat. All members of the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment are welcome to attend.d

The programme for the weekend is:

Friday 9 May - Regimental Reunion 1 Border Supper Dance
19:30 hrs for 20:00 hrs in the Shepherds Inn, Carlisle. Tickets £16.00 each direct from John Mallinson on 01228 520 877.d

Saturday 10th May -

Morning - Recruit stands on Castle Green.
Re-enactors and Vintage Military Vehicles Display

Afternoon - Recruit stands on Castle Green.
Re-enactors and Vintage Military Vehicles Display

17:00-18:00 - TA 100, Regimental Officers and Army Benevelent Fund joint reception in the Castle. Officers are requested to make a donation to the Army Benevelent Fund, by completing and returning a gift aide declaration with their cheque, made payable to the Army Benevelent Fund. Free parking in Devonshire Walk Car Park in designated area.

18:30 - 19:00 - Beating of Retreat by the Regimental Band of the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment and the Association Band of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. Open to All.

19:00 - 19:30 Military Display

19:30 - Sunset Ceremony

19:40 - Transport to the Shepherds Inn (Return by own arrangement)

20:00 - The Kings Own Royal Border Regiment Reunion Supper Dance at the Shepherds Inn - Jacket and tie. The cost of this event will be £16.00. This will be for a three course meal and a bottle of wine per table of 10. You are requested to make your cheques payable to The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment. Please inform CHQ if you wish to reserve places or a table.d

Sunday 11th May - Regimental Thanksgiving Service and Parade

11:30 - Verterans, Soldiers, and Cadets form up in the Castle (Veterans may join the parade on Castle Street.

12:15 - Thanksgiving Service in the Cathederal

13:00 - March Back to Castle. Deputy Colonel takes salute, Deputy Colonel to inspect parade, Deputy Colonel to present medals and awards.

13:30 - Curry Lunch in Burma Block.

Association Branches are asked to parade their standards.d
