Weeton Annual Reunion 2008

Sequence of Events

David Clawson

As always the following is a rough guide to the WAR and there will be a good deal of flexibility, especially concerning troop movements on Friday and Saturday night.

If you haven’t booked accommodation yet, call Christine at the Bank House on 01253-294717. She’ll sort you out; remember to quote ‘King’s Own Border Reunion.’
Any questions or problems send an email to dclawsonpp@hotmail.com

See you soon,

Take Care,

Dave.

dFriday June 27th

15.00 – 15.30 - Fall in at the bar of the Bank House, Kirby Road, Blackpool.
15.30 - Afternoon stroll – We’re going to have an amble around the Pleasure Beach area and have a few warmers into the bank around the South Pier this year.
19.00 – 19.30 – Reorganize at the bar of the Bank House.
19.30 – Tram to the Veterans’ Club, Fleetwood – We’re going to give this a try just to see how it goes as last year’s odyssey to the Derby in Kirkham didn’t really work. If it isn’t totally successful, we’ll simply return to the Blackpool boozers.
Some of the boys choose to attend the Veterans’ Club in blazer, beret, medals etc. You are free to do this if you wish; otherwise it’s come as you are.
00.00 – 00.30 – Reorganize at the bar of the Bank House. Join us for a relaxing chat and a few games of pool (bring a towel) into the early hours.

dSaturday June 28th

09.00 (ish) – Breakfast.
10.00 – Morning run – Join Steve Ashcroft, myself and hopefully a few others for a jog along the promenade to the Hilton Hotel and back.
12.00 – 12.30 – Transport to the Eagle and Child. Taxis will be transporting us to Weeton for the main part of the Reunion. Most members will be wearing their WAR polo shirts. If you haven’t got one by the end of June, Bill Ozenbrook may have a few surplus ones that you can purchase on the day.
If the weather’s good this year, Michael will be putting on the barbecue in the back garden. Many of you will remember how successful that was two years ago. For those members who missed breakfast or just eat a lot anyway, the food indoors is excellent so no one will be going hungry.
19.00 – 19.30 – Taxis to Blackpool.
19.30 – Late – Blackpool pubs and clubs.
From the early hours onwards, we’ll probably reorganize at the bar of the Bank House.

dSunday June 29th
09.00 – Breakfast.
10.00 – Morning run.
12.00 onwards – Fall out.d
